SPRING SPORTS AT UNION FARING WELL

Jackson, TN--Spring sports at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University were well represented in the NAIA Division I polls that were released this afternoon. Softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, golf and baseball were all in the polls this week.

The Lady Bulldog softball team moved into the No. 10 slot. In the preseason polls Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (28-4) was No. 24. The only other TranSouth team in the rankings was Lipscomb (TN) at No. 8.

Men's golf moved up to No. 12 from the No. 15 spot. Other TranSouth teams in the polls included Berry (GA) at No. 2 and Lipscomb (TN) at No. 21.

The Lady Bulldog tennis program, who is presently 10-2 on the season were ranked No. 12 with two individual ratings. Clara Martinez was ranked No. 25 in singles while teammate Sian Olszewski was tied for No. 46.

The men's tennis team came in at No. 28 this week. In singles Mario Cobo was the only Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ player ranked. Cobo came in at No. 39. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is presently 9-2 on the season. Other TranSouth teams ranked included Freed-Hardeman (TN) at No. 10, Birmingham-Southern (AL) at No. 11, and Berry (GA) at No. 14.

The Bulldog baseball team (22-12) came into the polls at No. 31. TranSouth foes also ranked include Birmingham-Southern (AL) at No. 1, Berry (GA) at No. 11, and Freed-Hardeman (TN) at No. 21).
