UNION SIGNS SOUTH SIDE STANDOUT JEFF WYATT

Jackson, TN--Jackson South Side's Jeff Wyatt signed today at 1:15 p.m. to play baseball at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University.  The third baseman for the Hawks is presently hitting .667 on the 1998 season with one homerun and has a 1.143 slugging percentage.  In his junior season at South Side, Wyatt finished the year with a .504 batting average, seven homeruns and 45 runs batted in during the Hawk's 30 games.  Wyatt also played this past summer for the Jackson Eagles where he hit 15 homeruns and batted .485.

According to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ head coach Andy Rushing, "Jeff is one of the best high school players this season in the state of Tennessee.  He is as good a high school hitter as I have seen in 15 years of college recruiting.  I expect him to start and have an immediate impact on our program."

Wyatt joins Travis Brown of Fayetteville, Dustin Brown of Selmer, and Seth Bennett of Huntingdon.
