Jackson, TN--Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University's Tryrian Ridges earned another honor on the season when the 1998 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball All-Americans were released this week. Ridges, a 6-2 sophomore guard, was named to the All- American second team this season.
Ridges, a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, led the Bulldogs this season in scoring and assists with an average of 18.3 points and 7.3 assists per game. For the 1997-98 season Ridges tied the school record for Most Assists in a Season with 255 while helping guide Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to their first national tournament appearance since 1992. The Bulldogs finished the season with an overall record of 30-5 and the TranSouth Conference regular season and tournament titles. Ridges led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in scoring in 22 of their 35 contests.
Other honors Ridges earned this season include NCCAA All-American, All- TranSouth Conference, TranSouth Newcomer of the Year, TranSouth Western Division Player of the Year, and NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week.
