UNION SIGNS WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER

Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University's women's tennis program added an elite player to their roster for next season. University School of Jackson's Julie Yarbrough committed today to play her collegiate tennis career for the Lady Bulldogs. Yarbrough is currently the top-ranked girl in the 18-and-under category in Tennessee and is ranked 43rd in the South. In her high school career, Yarbrough has led USJ to three district championships and two regional titles. In both her freshman and junior seasons, Yarbrough was named District Player of the Year and girls singles Best of the West. She also earned all-district and all-region honors as well.

Yarbrough chose Â鶹ÊÓƵ because of the proximity to home as well as it's reputation for academics. While at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Yarbrough hopes to play volleyball as well, which is set to begin it's first season of play in 1998.
