UNION VOLLEYBALL ADDS TWO PLAYERS
Jackson, TN--The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University women's volleyball program has added two new players to their roster for 1998. Last week head coach Brian Dunn signed two of the state of Illinois' top players. Both Shannon Pollman and Melissa Hayden will be transferring to Â鶹ÊÓƵ from Belleville Area College in Belleville, Illinois.
Pollman, a native of Carlyle, Illinois, is a 5-10 middle for the Dutchwomen. Pollman was named first team All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference, first team All- Region, and ranked 10th in the nation in hitting percentage (.456).
Hayden, a native of Belleville, is a 5-8 setter for the Dutchwomen. Hayden earned All-Region status as well and was also named Great Rives Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player. Hayden ranked eighth in the nation in assists per game.
Belleville Area College finished the 1997 season with a 38-6 record and a number nine national ranking.
