MEMPHIS AREA PLAYERS JOIN THE BULLDOGS

Jackson, TN--Three Memphis area players have committed to play soccer for the new varsity men's program at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. Collierville's Stephen Horn, Bolton's Matthew Jennings, and Briarcrest's Lee Davis. All three are presently students at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ who played on the men's club soccer team this past fall.

Horn, a 1997 graduate of Collierville High School, played four seasons for the Dragons earning honors such as Most Improved, Most Valuable Player, and Mr. Offense. Horn also played for the Lobos Club team and was a member of the 1996 state championship team and the 1997 team which placed second in the state.

Jennings, a 1997 graduate of Bolton High School, helped guide the Wildcats to a 1997 District Championship while scoring eight goals. During the 1996 season, Jennings scored 15 goals for the Wildcats and was named to the District Tournament Team.

Davis is a 1993 graduate of Briarcrest Christian School and will be pursuing a graduate degree while playing for the Bulldogs in 1998. Davis earned several honors in basketball and soccer at Briarcrest including Shelby County All-Metro and All-District. Davis was also a member of a Junior Olympic state championship basketball team.

The Bulldogs will compete in the TranSouth Conference with opponents Birmingham-Southern College, Berry College, Lee University, Lyon College, Martin Methodist College and Williams Baptist College.
