UNION SIGNS MEMPHIS STANDOUT

Jackson, TN--The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University men's soccer program added another weapon to their roster when they signed an outstanding player from Memphis last week. Houston High School's Ryan Wilder committed to play his collegiate soccer career at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

Wilder, a 1996 graduate of Houston High School, who began playing soccer at the age of four, has earned several honors in his soccer career. At Houston Wilder helped guide the Mustangs to three state championships in 1993, 1994, and 1996. In 1996 Wilder was named the State Tournament Best Defensive Player and was the team captain for Houston when they defeated the number one ranked team to claim the state title. Wilder was also named All-District in 1995 and was named to the All-State team in 1996.

Wilder has earned the distinguishable honor of playing on the State Olympic Developmental Team and spent the 1996 season playing club soccer in Memphis for the Memphis Futbol Club under the guidance of Richard Butt.

Wilder is the son of Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumnus Ray Wilder ('72) and the grandson of Dr. George Harvey, Position and President of the Jackson Sun.
