SAMANTHA SLOAN LOSES IN FINALS TO TEAMMATE
Jackson, TN--Â鶹ÊÓƵ University women's tennis player, Samantha Sloan, lost in the finals of the Rolex Intercollegiate Tennis Championships at Lexington, Kentucky, on September 27, 1997. The native of Lebanon, Tennessee, defeated Susan Desensi of Transylvania University 6-2, 6-2, Vivan Demetriou of Lipscomb University 7-5, 6-2, Kelly Arnold of Walsh University 6-1, 6-0, Â鶹ÊÓƵ teammate Tara Heath 7-5, 7-6, and then lost to teammate Sarah Smith in the finals 6-3, 6-2.
Sloan, a 1996 graduate of Friendship Christian, is in her second season with the Lady Bulldogs. Sloan played tennis and basketball at Friendship Christian where she earned All-District and Most Valuable Player honors.
