JACKSON, November 19-- Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University students, faculty and staff will kick off the holiday season Monday, Dec. 2, with "A Traditional Christmas Celebration and the Lighting of the Lights." The program, which begins at 6:45 p.m. in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel, features traditional and contemporary Christmas music.
Featured selections include "Winter Wonderland," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," "Silent Night," and "Joy to the World." Following "The Hanging of the Greens" by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students, David Burke, director of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Players, will share "The Birth of Christ in Scripture." To conclude the program, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ president David Dockery and his wife, Lanese, will turn on the Christmas lights decorating Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's campus.
The program is free and open to the public.
