Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ professor to receive
Love Community Service Award

Jackson, Tenn. - Geraldine Smith, associate professor of nursing at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University, will receive the Love Community Service Award from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, Wednesday, Nov. 17 in Nashville.

Nominated by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ President David S. Dockery, Smith will be recognized for her contributions and efforts toward Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students and the community, specifically for her work with a Hispanic community in Gibson County, the public school system in Jackson-Madison County and an indigent care clinic in Memphis. Smith has also been recognized by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and the Tennessee Nurses Association for her commitment to innovative teaching and service to the community.

"Ms. Smith has certainly made a significant contribution to our campus and community and will make a very fine representative of the Commission's service award program," said Dockery.
