Jackson, Tenn. David Burke, director of theatre at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University, attended and taught at the 1997 International Christians in the Theatre Arts conference, held this year on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
From June 11-15, 400 participants joined together at the Sandy Cove Christian Conference Center for various discussions and presentations on the topic of "Divine Comedy: Humor and Faith."
The participants came from all around the globe and ranged from professional actors and teachers to amateurs and church dramatists.
Burke presided over a two-part session on "Enhancing Creativity and Imagination." This philosophical and hands-on workshop focused on the nature of imagination and creativity.
Burke, who has been an active member of CITA since 1990, is an associate professor of theatre at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and was recognized as the University's Faculty Member of the Year in 1994.
