JUNIOR SIFE COMPETITORS
EARN SEVERAL AWARDS

Jackson, Tenn. — Â鶹ÊÓƵ University held its Third Annual Junior Students In Free Enterprise Competition, May 4. Approximately 400 sixth-grade students took part in the event. Participating schools included Tigrett Middle School, Jackson Christian School and the University School of Jackson.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ's SIFE team hosted the event, which was the culmination of a five-week curriculum taught to local sixth-graders by Â鶹ÊÓƵ students. In preparation for the competition, the sixth-graders were taught the basic principles of a free enterprise system and the building blocks of starting a business.

Each participating classroom developed a hypothetical business and formulated a business plan. Individual students wrote free enterprise speeches and created illustrations of the size of the national debt.
