Pastors' School to focus on
'Leading the Church'

Jackson, Tenn. -Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University's Pastors' School, titled "Leading the Church," will be held August 2-5 on the university's campus. The school is sponsored by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's R.G. Lee Centers for Christian Ministry.

Pastors' SchoolThe R.G. Lee Center is a cooperative effort between Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and West Tennessee Baptist associations, providing church leaders and their congregations the opportunity to earn a Diploma in Christian Ministry or an Associate of Divinity degree.

This year's Pastor School will offer worship time, fellowship with pastors and their wives and addresses from the following speakers:

  • Franklin Pollard, pastor, First Baptist Church of Jackson;
  • John Phillips, author and teacher of Encounter Ministries in Wilmington, Del.;
  • Harry M. Piland, former director of the Sunday School Division of the Southern Baptist Convention;
  • Michael Duduit, executive vice president at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and editor of Preaching Magazine;
  • Paul Barkley, family counselor in Bartlett, Tenn.;
  • and Rhonda Barkley, teacher in Bartlett, Tenn.

"We hope that many pastors and their families will take advantage of this week to relax, refresh and reflect," Director of Denominational Support and Planned Giving and Acting Vice President of Church Services Paul Veazey said.
