| Jackson, Tenn. - The Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Alumni Association
honored Jackson native, Catherine Peek Kwasigroh, during Â鶹ÊÓƵ's 175th Homecoming
celebration, Feb. 12-13, 1999. Kwasigroh received The Outstanding Young Achiever Award.
This award is presented to one, age 35 or younger, who shall have record of significant
accomplishment in professional life and for service to Â鶹ÊÓƵ or the world.
Kwasigroh graduated from Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 1990 with a bachelor of science in accounting. She
went on to earn her master of business administration at the University of Tennessee
Martin in 1997.
While at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Kwasigroh received the Elizabeth Tigrett Medal and was named the
university's most outstanding accounting student for the class of 1990. In the same year,
she was elected Miss Â鶹ÊÓƵ and was named an NAIA Academic All American for her performance
in Lady Bulldog basketball. Kwasigroh also served as financial advisor to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ
chapter of the Chi Omega sorority.
Today Kwasigroh is the executive director of finance for the system affiliate division
of West Tennessee Healthcare, Inc. and teaches accounting part-time in Â鶹ÊÓƵ's McAfee
School of Business Administration.
