LOCAL JOURNALIST JOINS
UNION UNIVERSITY AS NEWS DIRECTOR
Jackson, Tenn. — Nedra J. Kanavel has been named director of news and information at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University, effective March 9.
Kanavel, a 1996 Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduate, currently serves as editorial page assistant for The Jackson Sun. In that role, she has written and edited material for opinion sections of The Sun, as well as writing feature articles and commentaries.
In addition to her studies at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Kanavel also studied at the University of Michigan and at St. John's College of Oxford University.
In her new position, Kanavel will write and distribute news and features about Â鶹ÊÓƵ, help the University work with local, regional and national media, and provide support for other Â鶹ÊÓƵ publications.
