| Jackson, Tenn. - Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University will kick off its
annual Bach's Lunch Recital Series with a half-hour concert, March 4, at 12:15 p.m. in the
Coburn Dining Room in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Student Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Building. The concert will include
performances by Proclamation and University Handbells. Proclamation is a select student
ensemble that represents Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ at church services, civic organization meetings, banquets
and other special events. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's handbell choir rings five full octaves of Malmark
English handbells. The group performs a diverse repertoire, including transcriptions and
arrangements of classical works, setting of hymn and folk tunes and original compositions
for bells. Under the direction of Andrew Roby, associate professor of music and department
chair at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, the handbell choir has become an auditioned ensemble and has broadened its
performance venues to include appearances in churches and schools throughout the area.
