to perform guest recital at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University

Jackson, Tenn. - Quink, the internationally-acclaimed Dutch vocal ensemble, will perform a guest concert in the Recital Hall in Penick Academic Plaza at Â鶹ÊÓƵ University, Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

"We are very fortunate to have a group of such high caliber here at Â鶹ÊÓƵ," said Terry McRoberts, associate professor of music and recital coordinator in the Department of Music at Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

In existence as a professional ensemble since the late seventies, Quink has a well-established reputation for captivating audiences worldwide with expressive programs of varied repertoire.

The quintet's repertoire varies widely and consists of a cappella music of Renaissance and Baroque as well as works by Romantic composers. Quink often performs folk song and close harmony arrangements and it concludes its performances with lighter audience-pleasing arrangements. Quink has introduced many new works both of established and modern masters, and a number of contemporary Dutch, German and American compositions have been dedicated especially to Quink.

Quink received its first international recognition when the group was named finalist in a major music competition in Europe. Since then, Quink has been invited to perform on important series at home and abroad.
