UNION LEADS CENTRIFUGE PREREGISTRATION, MISSIONS-GIVING

Jackson, Tenn. — Beginning its 11th year as a host to Centrifuge, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University exceeds 15 summer camp sites with the largest number of preregistered campers.

Registration numbers for the Summer 1997 Centrifuge camps show Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 3,418 preregistered campers – the most of all Centrifuge camp sites. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, located in Jackson, Tenn., holds 8 week-long camps each summer wtih a total capacity of about 6,000.

In 1996 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University led in the total contribution to foreign missions of 15 Centrifuge and Crosspoint sites across the U.S.

Linn Stranak, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Centrifuge director, explained that Centrifuge and Crosspoint sites collect weekly offerings that are given to the Southern Baptist Convention for foreign missions. "Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ led the way in mission offerings by collecting a grand total of $33,551.11," Stranak said.

Centrifuge is a week-long camp experience for youth grades 7-12, which challenges students to a new and deeper relationship with Christ. The camp incorporates a teenager's need for activity, fellowship and spiritual growth with the desire to learn.
