This year we are pleased to announce our first ever festival speakers: and of in Norway.
Penelope Films was founded by Grete Salomonsen and Odd Hynnekleiv in 1980. Since then Penelope Films has become a well known and established production company based in Kristiansand, Norway. The production company has worked on more than 40 film and TV productions worldwide.
Penelope Films is well known in Norway for producing "", a family film starring 80's pop-star
Morten Harket, Dennis Storhei and Agnete HÃ¥land. The feature was a great success in Norway and won several international film awards like the
Giffoni film festival and the Chicago international festival of childrens film.
In July 2007, Penelope Films received financial support from The Norwegian Film Fund for a new feature: " ()", an action/adventure film about child labor in Norway and emigration to the USA. The feature was released in March of 2010 and starred several Norwegian actors as well as international stars (including Kris Kristofferson) and was filmed in both Norwegian and English.
Join us as we celebrate the eighth annual Â鶹ÊÓƵ Student Film Festival. We have had some great films in the past, and we hope to have a great collection this year.
This festival exists to provide a public venue for the screening of student films. Its purpose is to encourage young filmmakers at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and give them a platform to showcase their talents.
Please contact Festival Directors Cam Tracy at ctracy@uu.edu/661-5502 or Chris Blair at cblair@uu.edu/661-5371 for more information about the festival.

"Grete and Odd Hynnekleiv are highly respected filmmakers in Norway. Grete's films are beloved in Norway and feature the courage of children who are at risk.
Odd's career has been in cinematography, and his eye for detail is inspiring. Both of them possess a keen sense of critical judgment. But personally, I am really
honored to call them my friends, and I am so excited to introduce them to the Â鶹ÊÓƵ University student filmmaking community."
