Brandon Boylan enters his first year as head coach for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldog soccer team.Ìý This season will be the inaugural season for women’s soccer at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University.Ìý In addition to coaching women’s soccer, Boylan will continue his responsibilities with the Student Life team as the Associate Director of Wellness and also maintain his teaching load for the Physical Education, Wellness, and Sport Department.Ìý He is a member of the NSCAA and currently holds the United States Soccer Federation National D coaching license.

A 1996 graduate of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Boylan received a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health.Ìý He is currently working to finish his thesis for his Masters requirements from the University of Memphis.Ìý

Boylan, a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, has served on several different soccer staffs since graduating from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.Ìý In 1996, he was hired as the acting head coach for Covington High School where he stayed until 1999.Ìý His responsibilities at Covington included all on field preparation of the team during practice and games for both the men’s and women’s teams.Ìý Other responsibilities included scheduling, fund raising and working closely with the athletic director in regards to eligibility.Ìý Boylan also served as assistant coach at East Tennessee State University, a NCAA Division I program, from 1999 through 2000.Ìý Some of his responsibilities at ETSU included contributing to on field preparation for the team during practices and games, and also traveling for the purpose of recruiting athletes for the soccer program.Ìý

As a player, Boylan has experienced soccer in several different regions of the country from Arizona to North Carolina.Ìý He also has four years of international experience in Japan during his high school career.Ìý

During his time at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as a student, Boylan was instrumental in the starting and building of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s first ever soccer program, which became varsity in 1998.Ìý He played four years for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ club soccer team that participated in the Southeastern Collegiate Club Soccer League.Ìý

Boylan is married to the former Rachel Rice of Munford, Tenn.Ìý She is a graduate of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with a degree in Biology and is currently working as a Pharmacist with ‘Super D’ Drug Stores.

Ben Hoskins, Assistant Coach

Ben Hoskins joins the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Lady Bulldog soccer program in their inaugural season as a first year assistant coach. Hoskins, a native of Memphis, Tenn., has been working with Coach Boylan during the early months in recruiting players and doing all the necessary things to help start a first year program.

Hoskins graduated from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University in 2002 with a BS degree in Sports Management. While at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, he was a member of the men’s soccer team during their first two seasons of varsity competition in 1998 and 1999. Hoskins is currently working towards his masters in Intercultural Studies at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Hoskins spent one season as the assistant boy’s soccer coach at Trinity Christian Academy in 2001 and one season at Jackson Soccer Club girls team in 2001 and 2002. He also spent two years overseas as a sports consultant. Hoskins has his USSF National D License.
