Before Â鶹ÊÓƵ: Howell was a four-year member of the Riverside (S.C.) High School cross country program, which qualified for the state meet three times, and was a two-year member of the basketball team. Howell was captain of her region championship cross country team in 2008. Howell has also competed in road races up to the half marathon distance, placing first in her age group in the half marathon. Howell is also a great student, a Beta Club member, and is very involved in church activities.
