Before Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ: Piper prepped at Smith County High School where she was a three sport athlete. In addition to four seasons of softball, she also played basketball and soccer for one season each. Piper helped lead her softball team to a district runner-up finish in 2008. As a freshman, Piper's basketball team also posted a district runner-up finish. During her softball career, Piper earned numerous honors, including All-District, Most Improved, and Horizon Award. She posted a career 2.59 ERA with 433 strikeouts. As a senior, Piper hit .365 with a .454 on-base percentage. Off the field, Piper was a four-time All-Academic award winner, a Girls State delegate, and was the winner of the TECA Washington Youth Tour and scholarship. Piper graduated fourth in her senior class and was a member of the Beta Club, Interact Club, Science and Math Club, French Club, Spanish Club, Drama Club, and FBLA President.
