Ashley has a tremendous amount of power. She is a threat to any pitcher at any time. Her 6-foot frame helps her to be one of the best defensive first basemen around. Ashley has a great understanding of the game that is demonstrated each time she steps on the field.
Before Â鶹ÊÓƵ: Blankenship transferred to Â鶹ÊÓƵ from Gadsden State Community College where she played two seasons of softball. As a Juco sophomore, she hit .495 with 14 homeruns and a .790 slugging percentage. Blankenship was named All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference as both a freshman and sophomore at Gadsden State. She prepped at Thompson High School. While in high school, Blankenship earned the varsity offensive award, 5A Area 7 Softball Tournament MVP, and the Golden Glove Award.
