Briggs was named NAIA honorable mention All-American, all Region and first team all-conference. A junior college All-American鈥ed the TJCAA in batting average (.466 average)鈥 tremendous asset to any team due to his offensive capabilities and ability to play two positions, right field and second base鈥ill start the majority of games in right field. In 2001 at Jackson State CC, he hit .466 with eight homeruns, 65 RBI, and 22 stolen bases.
