JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/25/2007 - Â鶹ÊÓƵ University women’s soccer goalie Laura Pla has been named the TranSouth Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 23, 2007. For Pla, this is her third conference weekly award this season and first at the region level.
Pla, a 5-foot-11 sophomore goalie from Nashville, Tenn., helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with 14 saves on the week. Pla didn’t allow a score during her 158 minutes in goal. Â鶹ÊÓƵ is now 5-3 on the year and are 2-1 in conference play.
