JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/14/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women's soccer team stepped out of conference and NAIA play this afternoon as they hosted NCAA Division II team, University of Alabama-Huntsville. UAH topped the Lady Bulldogs 4-1, after leading 3-1 at the half. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ drops to 3-3 on the season, while UAH improves to 4-2 overall.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Nikki Burau in the second minute of play. However, UAH didn't take long to respond as they posted three goals in a stretch of three minutes, just 11 minutes into the match.
UAH outshot Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ 18-14 in the match.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ goalie Laura Pla recorded four 10 saves in her 90 minutes between the posts. Caitlin Zimmerman added Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's only assist in the match. UAH received two goals from Ina Wam Bjorklid, one from Casey Aloi, and one from Devin Newman. UAH got assists from Jenna Waldschmidt, Aloi, Wam Bjorklid, and Kate Campoine.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a TranSouth Conference match on Tuesday, September 18 when the Lady Bulldogs host Lyon College at 5:00 pm.
