JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/6/2007 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 basketball continues to reload after losing one of the largest senior classes in recent history. The 麻豆视频 Bulldogs announce the additions of Antoine Joseph, Veljko Petrovich, and Roland Banhoro to the roster. Each will enter 麻豆视频 this fall as freshmen.
, a 6-foot-8 guard/forward comes to 麻豆视频 from Haiti. 麻豆视频 head coach Ralph Turner states, 鈥淎ntoine is a highly skilled player, and it will be fun to watch him improve over the next four years.鈥
, a 6-foot-7 forward, comes to 麻豆视频 from Serbia. 鈥淰eljko is a strong, versatile power forward. He has great instincts and has been taught how to play the game.鈥
, a 6-foot-7 center, joins 麻豆视频 from Burkina Faso. Turner says of Banhoro, 鈥淩oland is a very strong rebounder with a nice shooting touch out to 15 feet. With continued improvement, he could stretch the defense and become more of outside treat.鈥
These three players join junior college All-American Matt Neaville as the newest additions to the 2007-08 team roster for 麻豆视频.
Last season, 麻豆视频 matched their best national tournament finish by advancing to the Elite Eight. The Bulldogs lost five seniors last year, all of which started at some point during the year, including the two big men inside. Ben Frederick (6-10) and Pierry Valmera (6-8) both were All-Americans during their careers and will be tough to replace. Also graduating was All-American guard and NAIA All-Tournament team member Mack Bealim. The five seniors accounted for 53.2 of the teams 82.4 points per game.
