JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/18/2007 - has signed to play her final two seasons of college volleyball for the Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Lady Bulldogs. Berlin transfers to Â鶹ÊÓƵ from the College of the Sequoias and will enter Â鶹ÊÓƵ this fall as a junior, majoring in nursing.
Berlin, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker, played two seasons of volleyball at the College of the Sequoias. She was named first team All-Conference as a sophomore and second team All-Conference as a freshman in college. In 2006, she averaged 3.21 kills per game and ranked 24th in blocks per game (1.2). Berlin prepped at Mt. Whitney High School where she played volleyball, soccer, and ran track.
"Brisa was a dominating force in the middle for us", states College of the Sequoias head coach Pete Ramsussen. "She had the ability to shut down the opponents strongest hitters and also adds a hammer for a right arm."
Â鶹ÊÓƵ head coach Steven Gream is thrilled to be adding such a talented player to the team. "Brisa is solid at the net with a great attack and puts up a big block. She will combine with Hutchison Coyle to provide a great block for our front line defense and make things easier for our back row defense."
Â鶹ÊÓƵ opens the 2007 volleyball season on the road September 1 with a conference game at Crichton College (Tenn.). Â鶹ÊÓƵ's first home match of the 2007 will be Monday, September 10 versus Bethel College (Tenn.)
