JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/22/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University men’s basketball team boasts two players on the 2007 . Seniors Mack Bealim and Deywane Lee were named third team All-American and honorable mentioned All-American respectively. Bealim was also named to the NAIA National Tournament All-Tournament team after leading Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to the quarterfinals by averaging 25 points over his three games.
, a 6-foot-5 senior guard from Livingston, Alabama, led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 15.0 points and 3.6 assists per game. He also averaged 6.3 rebounds per game and shot 50-percent from the field and 44-percent (28-63) from behind the arc. Bealim adds this to his first team All-Conference honor from earlier this season. Bealim was instrumental in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ run to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament. In the three games in the nationals, Bealim averaged 25 points per game to lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
, a 6-foot-8 senior forward from Memphis, finished a fraction of a point away from averaging a double-double for the season with 9.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He also shot 52-percent from the field and led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with 38 blocks (1.1 per game). Lee was ranked among the rebounding leaders in the NAIA all season and finished No. 4 in the NAIA with 3.8 offensive rebounds per game and No. 9 with 9.6 rebounds per game.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finished the season 25-10 overall and 14-4 in the TranSouth. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ advanced all the way to the final eight of the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Tournament in Kansas City before losing to the eventual NAIA runner-up. This quarterfinal appearance matched the best finish for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s men in the national tournament (1999, 2007). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also posted runner-up finishes in both the TranSouth Conference Regular Season and Tournament. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ advanced to their sixth TranSouth Tournament Title game in the 11-year history of the league. After the loss to fellow national quarterfinal participant Crichton, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 5-1 in TranSouth Championship Games.
