JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/7/2007 - The two-time defending NAIA National Champion Â鶹ÊÓƵ University Lady Bulldogs teams knew they were playing in the NAIA National Tournament next week. The only questions were who, when, and from what place in the bracket. The TranSouth regular season and tournament champion Â鶹ÊÓƵ Lady Bulldogs earned one of the four No. 1 seeds and are seeded third overall in the bracket.
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Lady Bulldogs, ranked No. 5 in the final NAIA rankings, won what many consider to be the toughest conference in the NAIA by winning 18 of their last 19 games entering national tournament play. Â鶹ÊÓƵ opens the tournament versus The Master’s College (Calif.) on Wednesday at 8:00 pm. The No. 2 seed in Â鶹ÊÓƵ quarter of the bracket is Lubbock Christian University (Texas). Â鶹ÊÓƵ has ended the season of Lubbock Christian in each of the last two national tournaments (1st round in 2005 and championship game in 2006).
