麻豆视频 Wins Quarterfinal Game Over Blue Mountain 113-59

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/28/2007 - The No. 5 ranked 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldogs opened play in the TranSouth Conference Tournament with a 113-59 win over Blue Mountain College (Miss.). 麻豆视频, the regular season champion and No. 1 seed, improved to 25-5 on the season. Blue Mountain, the No. 9 seed, finished the year 8-21.

麻豆视频 has won 16 of their last 17 games.

After a slow start to the game, 麻豆视频 pulled away in the first half to lead 50-30 at the break. 麻豆视频 committed 13 first half turnovers, with eight of them coming in the first eight minutes. 麻豆视频, the NAIA鈥檚 No. 1 field goal shooting team, shot 51-percent in the first half from the field.

In the second half, 麻豆视频 and Blue Mountain swapped baskets with each team scoring eight points over the first four minutes of play. However, 麻豆视频 then posted a 20-0 run to jump the 麻豆视频 lead to 40 points, 78-38. 麻豆视频 cruised to the quarterfinal win by out scoring Blue Mountain 63-29 over the final 20 minutes. The 63 points in a half was the second highest total for a half this season (65 vs. Mid-Continent on Jan. 11).

麻豆视频 finished the game shooting 60-percent from the field, including 44-percent (8-18) from behind the arc. 麻豆视频 also shot 80-percent (21-26) from the free throw line.

All nine players for 麻豆视频 scored in the game as the 113 points was the second highest point output of the season (119 vs. Mid-Continent). 麻豆视频 was led by the three first team All-Conference performers on this night. Nataya Smith posted 18 points and 11 rebounds. Josephine Owino added 18 points and nine rebounds, while Kaitlin Dudley scored 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from three point range. Ena Daniels added 16 points, DJ Sissoko scored 14 points and Crystal Eason added 12 points.

Blue Mountain was led by Lauren Ford and Kelly Yates with 10 points each. Blue Mountain shot 34-percent from the field, 26-percent from behind the arc (7-27), and 91-percent 10-11 from the free throw line.

Up next for 麻豆视频 will be game versus cross-town rival Lambuth University on Friday, March 2 in the semifinals. The two teams will square off at 7:00 pm at 麻豆视频鈥檚 Fred DeLay Gymnasium. This will be the third meeting of the year with 麻豆视频 winning the first game at Lambuth 89-69 and Lambuth winning at 麻豆视频 87-85.
