JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/19/2007 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University baseball program has signed Joe Gahan of Fremont, Nebraska to conintue his college baseball career for the Bulldogs. Gahan will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a junior and will be majoring in Psycology.
Gahan, a 6-foot-1 left-hander, can play all three outfield postions. Gahan is a transfer from Highland Community College where he played two seasons in the outfield. Gahan prepped at Fremont High School were he excelled in three sports, including baseball, football, and basketball. He helped lead his baseball team to the 2003 District Championship. In baseball, Gahan was named Academic All-State twice, MVP twice, Slugger Award as a junior, and the Triple Crown award as a senior. In football and basketball, Gahan was named All-State and Academic All-State as a junior and senior. He posted a .458 batting average as a senior with five homeruns as a senior and finished with a .420 career high school batting average.
Gahan was just as successful in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Math Club, and Cum Laude with high distinctions.
