JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/13/2007 - The 13th ranked 麻豆视频 University Bulldogs defeated Bethel College (Tenn.) 92-66 on Monday night to win their fifth straight game. 麻豆视频 improved to 18-7 overall and 11-3 in the TranSouth. Bethel dropped to 11-15 on the season and 3-11 in league play.
With the win and a loss by Lambuth University (Tenn.) this same night, 麻豆视频 moves into a three way tie for first place in the TranSouth Conference with Lambuth and Crichton College (Tenn.), all with three losses.
麻豆视频 jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and would not look back as the Bulldogs led this game wire-to-wire. 麻豆视频 led by as many as 14 points in the first half before taking a 36-23 halftime lead.
In the second half, 麻豆视频 posted a 30-15 run over the first nine minutes of play to take their biggest lead at 66-38. 麻豆视频 cruised from that point and came away with the 92-66 win.
麻豆视频 was led by Pierry Valmera with 21 points. Brian Lake posted 16 points including 4-of-4 from the three point line. Ben Frederick added 15 points, while Mack Bealim and Deywane Lee added 12 and 11 points respectively. Lee completed his double-double with 12 rebounds in the contest. All nine players for 麻豆视频 broke into the scoring column for 麻豆视频.
Bethel was led by Thomas Haynes with 19 points including 5-of-10 from three point range. Justin Williamson added 12 points for Bethel.
Up next for 麻豆视频 will be a road match up versus one of the teams currently tied with 麻豆视频 atop the league standings. On Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, 麻豆视频 plays in Memphis versus Crichton. 麻豆视频 topped Crichton 93-64 at home earlier this season, however the Comets are playing better basketball now as they are coming off a 105-98 upset win over Lambuth to help create the crowd atop the TranSouth.
