麻豆视频 Signs Maryland High School Standout

Jackson, Tenn. - 4/25/2002 - Matt Trammell, of New Market, Maryland, has signed to play his college basketball for 麻豆视频 University. Trammell, a 6-6 guard, played at Linganore High School where he led his squad to back to back regional semifinal appearances. He also received a congressional nomination to West Point and an appointment to West Point Prep, where he played for on season after high school.

While in high school, Trammel averaged 22.3 points per game and shot 51.3 % from the field. He was a two-time first team Mid-Maryland All-Star. Trammell was also selected as a first team All-Conference along with All-Metro honorable mentioned. He is Lingamore鈥檚 all-time assists leader and is second all-time leading scorer. Trammell played one year at the United States Military Academy Prep School where he averaged 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and four assists per game. Trammell played Maryland AAU basketball and helped lead his teams to three AAU National Tournaments. He received the Maryland Most Outstanding Player Award.

Academically, Trammell is as strong as they come. He has a 3.6 grade point average and was selected as Who鈥檚 Who Among American High School Students. Trammell is a member of several student organizations, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Physics Club.

麻豆视频鈥檚 head coach Ralph Turner thinks very highly of Trammell. Turner says, 鈥淢att has great guard skills to go along with exceptional size. He can play a variety of positions and will be a great fit for our university and team.鈥
