Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Places Two on Volleyball All-Region Team

JACKSON, Tenn. - 11/27/2006 - Amanda Hutchison of Jackson and Monica Schirmer of Long Beach, California, are the two players representing Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University on the 2006 NAIA Region XI All-Region team. This is the second All-Region honor in Hutchison’s career and the first for Schirmer while at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

, 5-foot-9 sophomore and former Trinity Christian standout, was second on the team with 505 kills and led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ with a .448 hitting percentage. She passed the 1,000 career kills mark during the conference tournament this season. Hutchison also led the team with 205 blocks (1.56/game) and posted 34 aces.

, a 5-foot-11 senior, led the Lady Bulldogs with 512 kills and posted a .338 hitting percentage. She was second on the team with 79 aces and posted 98 blocks (.077/game) on the season. Schirmer finished with 995 kills in her two seasons with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finished the season with a 27-10 overall record and advanced to the NAIA Region XI Tournament for eighth time in the nine year history of the program. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also kept alive the streak of nine straight winning seasons since the program started in 1998.
