JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/25/2006 - In just their second season of varsity competition, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women's soccer program earned a spot in the . Tonight, the Lady Bulldogs earned their first win as they topped Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) 5-0. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, the #4 seed in the tournament, improves to 10-6 on the season. The sixth seeded Trevecca Nazarene Trojans end their season at 6-8-3.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored first on a quick goal by Caitlin Zimmerman. Brooke Walker, Jill Landers, and Zimmerman a second time pushed Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ out to a 4-0 halftime lead. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ added a goal by Katelin Dirksen in the final 10 minutes of play seal the win at 5-0.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a trip to the TranSouth Conference Tournament semifinals on the campus of Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) on Friday, October 27. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will play top seeded Martin Methodist at 3:15 pm in the second of the two semifinal games played on Friday.
