JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/14/2006 - In just their 24th contest of the season, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldog volleyball team notched their 20th win of the season by defeated the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 3-0 (32-30, 30-20, 30-23). Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ moves to 20-4 on the season while the Cumberlands fall to 14-12 on the season.
Last season, first year head coach Steven Gream started his coaching career having to field a team with only two returning players. He did so and posted a winning record of 19-18 on the season in 2005. This year, with seven matches remaining in the regular season, Gream and his Lady Bulldogs of 2006 have surpased last season's win total.
Currently, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ sits in third place at 7-3 in the conference standings, just two games behind leader Martin Methodist (7-1).
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a conference match with crosstown rival Lambuth on Monday, October 16 at 7:00 pm at Lambuth. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will then play a conference match versus Bethel College (Tenn.) on Tuesday, October 17 at 3:00 pm at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, with a non-conference match versus Williams Baptist College (Ark.) at 7:00 pm at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ on the same day.
