JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/11/2006 - Former Trinity Christian Academy and current Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University standout, , has been named the TranSouth Conference and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2006
Hutchison, a 5-foot-9 sophomore from Jackson, led the Lady Bulldogs to a 4-2 week, including a home win over then undefeated Freed-Hardeman University. She had 88 kills on the week (4.0 per game), including three matches with 17 or more kills. 174 total attempts (7.91 per game), 25 digs, 18 solo blocks, 13 assisted blocks and 6 aces on the week. Hutchison also helped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 3-1 record in the Cornerstone University Tournament where she was named to the All-Tournament team.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 18-4 on the season and 6-3 in the conference. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ sits in third place, just two games behind the leader, Martin Methodist at 7-1.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a conference match at Cumberland University on Thursday, October 12 followed by a non-conference home match on Saturday, October 14 versus the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at 1:00 pm.
