Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's Zimmerman Named TranSouth and NAIA Region XI Player of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/2/2006 - of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University has been named TranSouth Athletic Conference and NAIA Region XI Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 1, 2006.

Zimmerman, a 5-foot-5 sophomore forward from Lebanon, Tenn., scored all of the Lady Bulldogs goals on the week to help lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 2-0 record on the week. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ topped conference foe Trevecca Nazarene University 1-0 and Campbellsville University 3-1, both matches on the road. She collected Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s one goal at Trevecca Nazarene and scored her first career hat trick in the victory at Campbellsville, extending her consecutive goals streak for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to six.

This is Zimmerman’s first TranSouth Player of the Week honor, and the first for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University women’s soccer, who began their program last season.

Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ soccer will be a home match on Tuesday, October 3 when the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs host conference foe Freed-Hardeman. The men's will play at 4:00 pm and the women's match will follow at 6:00 pm.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ moves into fourth place in the TranSouth Athletic Conference and improves to 6-4 overall, 1-2 in the TSAC. They host Freed-Hardeman University for a TranSouth match Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.

NAIA Region XI awards will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 3 and the NAIA National awards will be released on Wednesday afternoon.
