Bulldogs win Second Straight TranSouth Tennis Championship; Lady Bulldogs Finish Second

Rome, GA - 4/20/2002 - The 麻豆视频 University men鈥檚 tennis team has won their second consecutive TranSouth Conference Tournament Championship. 麻豆视频 defeated Berry College 5-3 in the championship match to capture the crown. 麻豆视频 was also the TranSouth regular season champion.

麻豆视频, ranked No. 12 in the NAIA swept the three doubles matches to secure the win. No. 14 Berry College won each of the 1, 2, and 3 seed matches. 麻豆视频 will now play in the NAIA Region XI Tournament and try for their second consecutive Region XI tournament championship and yet another trip to the NAIA National Tournament. 麻豆视频 ups its record to 17-2 on the season.

麻豆视频鈥檚 Lady Bulldog tennis team fell to Lee in the TranSouth Tournament Championship match by the score of 5-3. No. 21 麻豆视频 was Tri-Champions for the regular season with Martin Methodist and Lee, each with a 4-1 record. 麻豆视频鈥檚 No. 1 and 2 players, Ashley Young and Veronica Cortes each won their matches, however, Lee won the remaining singles and 2 of 3 double matches. 麻豆视频 overall record falls to 16-6 on the season.
