JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/2/2006 - , of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University, has been named the TranSouth Conference Volleyball Setter of the week for the week ending October 1. This is her first such honor of the 2006 season after winning the award three times in 2005.
Ogolla, a 5-foot-9 senior from Nairobi, Kenya, led Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to a 3-1 week, including TranSouth wins against Trevecca Nazarene and Cumberland. She averaged 12.13 assists per game and also attacked the ball at a .409 clip.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is now 14-2 overall and 5-2 in the TranSouth. The Lady Bulldogs currently sit in a tie for third place in the conference standings and are ranked fifth in the NAIA Region XI rankings.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a home match on Monday, October 3 at 7:00 pm versus league front-runner Freed-Hardeman University. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ travels to Nashville for a conference match at Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday night and then travels to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a weekend tournament at Cornerstone University.
One schedule change to note for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ volleyball is that the October 10 match at Lyon has been moved to October 26. The match will still be at 7:00 pm.
