JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/4/2006 - On a day when much of the country was off work, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Lady Bulldog team was busy with the task of continuing their perfect start to the 2006 season. That task was completed as Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ topped Brecsia University (Ky.) 6-2 on campus today. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-0.
With the win, the Lady Bulldog soccer team kept up their end of the streak as Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ fall sports are now a combined 11-0 (men's soccer 2-0, volleyball 6-0).
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ scored early and often in the first half as they took a 4-0 into the break. Cailtlin Clinger started it all with a goal in the ninth minute. Jill Landers, Candice Blackard, and Caitlin Zimmerman each added first half goals. Clinger and Roxanna Skelton added goals in the second half to give Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ a 6-0 lead. Brescia's McKenzie Stone and Lauren Taylor added goals late to spoil the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ shutout. For Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Laura Pla recorded seven saves while Rachel Watson added two saves. Brescia's Sara Pool recorded 15 saves.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ plays next on Friday, September 8 versus LSU-Shreveport in a match at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ at 7:00 pm.
