JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/30/2006 - of Cordova has signed to play his college baseball for the Bulldogs of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University. Vaneman made his decision early and will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in the fall of 2007 after completing his senior year.
Vaneman, a 6-foot-3 180 lb. shortstop, prepped at Cordova High School where he played baseball, golf, and basketball. As a junior on the baseball diamond, Vaneman hit .409 with 10 walks, eight triples, and two homeruns. He also tallied 20 stolen bases and posted a .720 slugging percentage. His eight triples was tops in the state of Tennessee in 2006.
