Blackard Records Hat Trick in 麻豆视频's Season Opening Win

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/28/2006 - For the second straight season, the 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldog soccer team opened their season with a win. On Saturday, 麻豆视频 top Bryan College (Tenn.) 5-0 to begin their second season of varsity competition.

In the win, Collierville, Tenn. native, recorded a hat trick in her first college soccer match. Blackard, a graduate of Briarcrest Christian High School, scored the first two goals, and then capped of the match with the team's fifth and final goal of the day. Sophomore transfer from Western Kentucky, Caitlin Zimmerman, tallied a goal along with Katelin Dirksen. Abby Williams, Brook Walker, and Dirksen each recorded an assist in the contest.

In the junior varsity contest earlier on Saturday, 麻豆视频 topped Itawamba Community College 3-0. Nikki Burau tallied two goals, while Rachel Fillinger added the third goal. Fillinger and Meagan Tobosa each tallied one assist.

麻豆视频 will play next on Saturday, September 2 at Harris-Stowe State College in St. Louis, Missouri at 2 pm. 麻豆视频's next home match will be Monday, September 4 at 4 pm versus Brescia University (Ky.).
