Former USJ Standout Transfers to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to play Baseball

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/15/2006 - Andrew Long, a 2005 graduate of the University School of Jackson, has transferred to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University to complete his college baseball career. Long comes to Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ from Maryville College where he spent his freshman season. He will enter Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ this fall as a sophomore and will major in Business.

, a 5-foot-8 outfielder from Jackson, lettered is each of his four seasons in baseball under Coach Brad Dyer and football for Coach Mickey Marley. Long helped lead the USJ baseball team to a Tennessee State Title in 2002 and then again in 2005. As a junior, he was named a second team All-West Tennessee performer while batting .422. He followed that effort with a .335 batting average as a senior. In football, Long was a three-time All-Region performer and was also named All-State as a senior at the wide receiver position. Also during his senior year, Long was voted as USJ's Team Captain. Upon graduating from USJ, Long was named to the USJ Hall of Fame.

Long is the son of Alan and Debby Long of Jackson, Tennessee.
