麻豆视频 Women鈥檚 Basketball Assistant Resigns after Five Seasons

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/20/2006 - Katie Woodruff, the 麻豆视频 University Lady Bulldog basketball assistant coach for the past five seasons, has resigned her position effective at the end of May.

Woodruff has accepted position of Program Director at WinShape Camp for Girls in Rome, Georgia.

鈥淜atie has a gift for discipleship and has a passion to work with young people,鈥 says 麻豆视频 head coach Mark Campbell. 鈥淪he has left a big hole to fill at 麻豆视频 but God will continue to use her in her ministry to young women. I am grateful for the time she has given to the women鈥檚 basketball program. Katie will be missed.鈥

During her five seasons at 麻豆视频, she helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to Back-to-Back NAIA National Championships (2005, 2006), three TranSouth regular season titles, two TranSouth tournament titles, and a five-year record of 167-23 (.879).

As a player at John Brown University in Arkansas, she was an All-Conference performer on the court while participating in the Sooner Athletic Conference. She ranks second in all-time scoring at JBU with 1,642 points. Woodruff also ranks first in free-throws made, second in steals, and third in assists in a career during her time at JBU.

After graduating from John Brown University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, Woodruff worked for one season as a volunteer assistant coach at the College of the Ozarks. In 1998, Woodruff began her graduate work at the University of Arkansas in recreation management. She served as the program coordinator for Arkansas Athletes Outreach鈥檚 "Champions of Character" program which taught public school children, as well as, Univ. of Arkansas athletes character development training through school assemblies and small group discipleship. In addition to her responsibilities at the university, Woodruff taught physical education to children in kindergarten through fifth grade at a local elementary school.

Just prior to coming to 麻豆视频 in 2001, Woodruff worked for K-Life, Inc. a para church ministry with an emphasis on discipleship to junior high and high school students.

Woodruff is the daughter of Adela Kisch of Fayetteville, Ark. and Walter Ray Woodruff of Fayetteville, Ark.
