JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/11/2006 - The 麻豆视频 University women鈥檚 soccer program continues to gear up for their second season of varsity competition as they have added four players to their 2006 roster, with these four all hailing from Tennessee. Caitlin Zimmerman of Lebanon, Abigail Williams of Crossville, Katie Moser of Bartlett, and Rachel Fillinger of Memphis each will join 麻豆视频 this fall.
, a 5-foot-5 sophomore forward, prepped at Friendship Christian where she played soccer and basketball. She received All-District and All-Region awards all four years of high school. Following her junior and senior seasons, she was named MVP of her district. Zimmerman received the TSWA All-State award as a senior. She tallied 54 goals and 20 assists in her senior season. In basketball, Zimmerman was named All-District for three seasons and All-Region for two seasons. At the beginning of her senior year in basketball, Zimmerman joined the 1,000 point club. Along with her athletic accomplishments, Zimmerman was a member of the National Honors Society, Key Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 麻豆视频 head coach Brandon Boylan says, 鈥淐aitlin comes to us from Western Kentucky. Her athleticism and knack for scoring is an addition to the team that we were lacking last season.鈥
, a 5-foot-2 freshman midfielder, was a member of SMSC Club soccer team for four years and in 2005 she helped her team win the SMSC Division II State Championship. In 2005, Williams was named All-Division and All-Region. She tallied 10 goals during the 2004-05 season. Williams will graduate from Gateway Christian School in May of 2006. Coach Boylan states that, 鈥淎bigail is a polished midfielder with great speed. Her ability to get behind the defense will help create chances for our offense.鈥
, a 5-foot-9 freshman goalie, participated in soccer, basketball, and softball while being home schooled in the Gateway Christian School program. She played basketball for one year at Bolton High School and was a member of the Bellevue Angels League Championship softball team in 2004 and 2005. Academically, Moser was in the top 25. 鈥淜atie is a great kid with a fearless attitude and great work ethic,鈥 states Coach Boylan. 鈥淪he has a great understanding of how to utilize her abilities to be successful.鈥
, a 5-foot-6 freshman midfielder, played four years of soccer and one year of softball while being home schooled in the Gateway Christian School program. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Coach Boylan says, 鈥淩achel is a player who enjoys playing and working hard. She will provide depth on the wings for us.鈥
