Jackson, Tenn. - 3/22/2002 - Leah Gronberg, sophomore pitcher for the No.3 ranked Lady Bulldogs, has been named the TranSouth Conference Player of the Week. Gronberg went 2-0 on the week and helped improve Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s record to 16-3 on the season.
Gronberg, a native of College Station, Texas, pitched a perfect game while striking out 15 in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 1-0 victory over No. 21 Montreat College. Earlier in the week, she pitched a two-hit shutout over Bethel College. Gronberg was a first team All-Conference selection last season for the Lady Bulldogs. Currently this season, Gronberg has a record of 7-1 with an ERA of 0.50. In her seven wins, she has tossed four no-hitters. On the season in 47.0 inning pitched, Gronberg has tallied 48 strikeouts and only walked five batters.
