麻豆视频 Men Land Former Bolivar Standout

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/17/2006 - Former Bolivar High School standout, Brian Lake, has decided to continue his college basketball career with the Bulldogs of 麻豆视频 University. Lake spent the last two seasons at Middle Tennessee State University, including one season with a medical redshirt. Lake will join 麻豆视频 this fall as a sophomore.

When asked of his move to 麻豆视频, Lake answered, 鈥淚 wanted to come to 麻豆视频 to play for good coaches and be around great players.鈥

Lake, a 6-foot-6 210 lb. forward, played in 12 games this season for Middle Tennessee State, including four starts. He averaged 6.3 points per game in those 12 games. He posted eight points in 20 minutes of play in an exhibition game versus 麻豆视频 earlier this season. His career high at MTSU was a 17-point effort versus Florida International.

Lake led his Bolivar High School team to their first ever basketball state title in 2004 with a 31-4 overall record. He was named the MVP of the state tournament after averaging a double-double during the tournament. Lake was a 2004 Mr. Basketball finalist and was named the Jackson Sun Player of the Year. He tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds in the title game versus Jackson South Side. He was also named to the Tennessee Sports Writers All-State Team, was a Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association All-State selection, an Associated Press All-State pick, and named to the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association All-Star basketball team.

麻豆视频 head coach Ralph Turner states, 鈥淲e are thrilled that Brian has chosen 麻豆视频 to continue his college career. Our goal is to sign the best local players we can, and in recent years, there hasn't been any better than Brian.鈥 Turner goes on to say, 鈥淐oach Rudesill taught him how to play the game the right way at Bolivar. Not only can Brian be a great player for us, but the way his parents have brought him up, gives him the opportunity to be a leader on our campus."
