JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/4/2006 - The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University Bulldog baseball followed an opening day split with another win on Saturday as they topped Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ College (Ky.) 6-1. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ University improved to 2-1 on the season, while Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ College fell to 1-2.
Former Millington High School standout, Zane Adams, started his first collegiate game as a freshman and took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. He earned the win by tossing six innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ recorded eight hits on the day with seven different players recording a hit. The lone senior in the starting lineup, Jeffrey Jackson of Memphis, recorded two hits in three at bats with two RBI. Both of is hits were doubles.
Up next for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will be a trip to Daytona Beach, Florida as the Bulldogs will play a three-game weekend series versus NAIA No. 3 ranked Embry-Riddle University.
